The Riverston Peak in Sri Lanka is a most scenic place where can be reached by travelling, about 30km away from the Matale town. Wasgamuwa National Park is located in between two districts of Matale and Polonnaruwa at a distance about 250 km away from Colombo. Tropical dry mixed evergreen forest characterized by tall and endemic trees. Wasgamuwa National Park’s climatic conditions are that of the dry zone. Wildlife includes Purple faced langur monkeys, wild boar, sambar and spotted deer, buffalo and leopards and sloth bears mugger crocodile, and python. Remains of a number of small rainwater reservoirs and ruins of temples reveal that the region of Wasgamuwa National Park and was once home to prosperous villages. The ruins estimated to be about 2000 years old features a reclining Buddha statue at Buduruwayaya.
Meemure is a village in Sri Lanka, situated about 175km away from Colombo with a population of about 400 but which is full of natural and scenic beauty as rural Sri Lankan village. It is located near the border between Kandy District and Matale District in the Knuckles Mountain Range. Meemure is one of the most remote villages in Sri Lanka with the only access via a 14 km trail from the town of Loolwatte. There is no cellular service available in the village, but a CDMA telephone service is available also has no direct mail delivery to the village where a villager journeys each day to post Junction to exchange incoming and outgoing postal mail with a postman. In other hand this much lack in facilities keeping this village by providing the exact replica of natural rural village which were in early stages in Sri Lanka with exceptional natural beauty and Traditional Sri Lankan styles.
